Just Focus Online Learning is looking for math-loving educators who want to help students build confidence and skill through engaging, personalized instruction. We serve homeschool families and other learners through virtual support, diagnostics, tutoring, and curriculum-driven learning experiences, and we’re looking for teachers who are open to more than tutoring alone.

Open position

High School Math Certified Teacher

Tutor, Assessor & Course Instructor

We’re looking for a high school math certified teacher who loves math and enjoys working with students at multiple levels: Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calc, Trigonometry, and more. We’d also love it if you have a strong background in ACT or SAT support.

You’ll work virtually with students across Florida or the US to build confidence and create mathematical thinkers. This is a flexible, part-time role where you’ll have the opportunity to do more than just tutor — you’ll be part of a team of math lovers who want students to have fun while learning.

All certified teachers hired as tutors should feel comfortable taking on one additional responsibility beyond tutoring (e.g., assessment, course instruction, curriculum development, or research/PD), and everyone will participate in professional development as part of our team’s growth.

Position Details

  • Location: Remote (Florida-based)

  • Schedule: Flexible (part-time; discuss your availability)

  • Compensation: $30-$40/hour (based on certification and experience)

  • Position Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

  • Subjects: Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calc, Trigonometry, ACT/SAT support

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personalized instruction to individual learners virtually

  • Track attendance, progress, and completed work

  • Keep classroom and internal notes up to date

  • Administer and score diagnostic assessments

  • Create or refine lesson plans and other learning materials

  • Collaborate on program development, research, or professional development

Qualifications (Required)

  • High school math certification (Grades 6–12) in Mathematics

  • Proven track record of student growth or successful teaching/tutoring experience

  • Comfortable with Zoom, G Suite, Canva, and Podia (or able to learn quickly)

  • Excellent communication and rapport-building with students

  • Dependable, professional, and collaborative

  • Must pass a background check prior to start

Preferred:

  • Strong background in Geometry, Algebra I & II, Pre-Calc, or Trigonometry

  • Experience with ACT or SAT support

  • Experience with curriculum development

  • Experience with homeschool families or personalized learning

  • ESE training or certification (Background in special education or differentiated instruction)

  • Experience with dyscalculia or other math learning differences
